Robert Reynolds continues his journey of painting the varied images of California that are meaningful and inspirational for him. Noted for his perceptive paintings that are filled with light, he discovers innovative ways to interpret his much loved sites found in the High Sierra and on the Central Coast. His seasoned insight reveals a truth and integrity about the subjects that he interprets and his work firmly confirms his connection to the world of nature. His painting subjects, shaped by past memories and feelings which mingle with present day realities, evoke a spiritual quality about them.

The paintings of Robert Reynolds are in collections throughout the United States and abroad. Images of his paintings have graced the pages and covers of national art magazines and his work is included in fifteen books. After a successful career as a Professor of Art at Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo where during his tenure, he was honored with the Cal Poly Distinguished Teaching Award and also was the recipient of the President’s Arts Award; he is presently a Professor of Art/Emeritus. In addition to his life-long commitment to painting, Robert Reynolds continues to conduct several outdoor painting workshops during the year, including one in our own back yard of Bear Valley, CA.
